Mister Car Wash civil engineering and design project in Orlando, Florida

Civil Engineering Consulting Services Provided:

Due Diligence: Our team performed extensive due diligence and code research to prepare a preliminary site plan based on the code requirements for our client. We also scheduled and attended all applicable pre-application meetings with agencies with jurisdiction over the subject site.
Construction Drawings and Permitting: Our team prepared the construction drawings, which included construction specifications, demolition, site layout, utilities, grading/drainage, erosion control, and details. Throughout the design process, we diligently coordinated with the building architect, plumbing engineer, electrical engineer, landscape architect, and the underground exfiltration system manufacturer. Our Government Relations staff filed all applications and submitted the packages to the appropriate jurisdictions. Z Development Services provided prompt responses to comments and coordinated with the permitting agencies until all permits were obtained.
Construction Administration: Upon approval of the construction drawings, our team reviewed the shop drawings and coordinated/attended the required pre-construction meetings. Site visits were performed during construction to review progress and discuss construction questions. We also coordinated the electrical service and responded to all RFIs promptly.
Close-Out: Once construction was completed, our team visited the site and reviewed the as-built survey for compliance with the design drawings. Once approved, we submitted the final certifications for the various jurisdictional permits.

This project included the construction of a Mister Car Wash with one automated tunnel and 22 vacuum stations. In addition to the site layout, utility, and stormwater design, we also made safety upgrades to the existing site access and sidewalk along John Young Parkway. This site included an extensive underground exfiltration system for stormwater management which required close coordination with the product manufacturer. The Mister Car Wash shared a driveway connection and cross access with an existing shopping center, which remained operational throughout the construction process.
